Lectures on UX/UI

As part of my academic role, I lead lectures on UI/UX for a postgraduate master's course in Digital Marketing, with classes consisting of around 60 students.
The course, titled "Design and Development of an E-Commerce," focuses on equipping students with practical skills in UX research and UI design. A key aspect of my teaching involves managing and guiding students through 19 e-commerce projects simultaneously, helping them apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios.

Project-Based Learning

The course is highly practical, with students working in groups to develop e-commerce projects from concept to execution. Each group is composed of students from different nationalities, which enhances their cross-cultural management skills, an essential part of working in today’s globalized design environment.

Topics Covered

  • Introduction to UX/UI, technologies, and roles
  • Research methodologies and the Value Proposition Canvas
  • Web Information Architecture
  • General patterns, color theory, and UI web design patterns
  • Mobile UI design patterns
  • Sketching, wireframing, and prototyping
  • Usability testing and communication in design
  • Gamification in user experience

Outcome

All students successfully learned and applied the basics of UX and UI design. The project-based and multicultural team approach ensured they gained valuable real-world experience, fostering both technical skills and cross-cultural management abilities. This prepares them for professional roles in digital marketing and e-commerce environments where collaboration and adaptability are critical.
